Lots of repetitive stuff from his other book, Bush Craft 101, I thought it was going to be a totally different book, but it's very similar.
This is the Third book in Dave Canterbury's, Bushcraft series. The book is well written, yet incorporates a number word for word paragraphs and information contained in his first two Bushcraft books. I think the Illustrations of traps could be better as well. Canterbury's Basic and Advanced Bushcraft Books were excellent. However illustrations of knots could also better as well, in these earlier books.
Mostly a rehash of his first two books which I've read a couple of times each. Very limited trapping information, really too little to be of any real value. I fear an otherwise very knowledgeable guy has caved in to commercial success.
Nice little book with a lot of info, and well organized. Based on the title, my expectation was that there would be more survival-style tips and tricks; this book is geared my toward those going out on backpacking or camping expeditions, with a lot of ideas for things to purchase and take along. For those readers looking for such a guide, the author has included a lot of useful ideas.The illustrations are excellent.
Not what I expected at all. I thought the book would purely contains how to do bushcraft stuff while using ONLY what's found in nature. That's not the case. I see it as a fun cookbook rather than a field guide. I didn't return in in the hopes that I'll get bored enough to actually use it.
I'm about 3 quarters of the way through now, it's a good read. I don't own his other books so I don't have a reference point there but I have read others saying that there's some repetition between them, which I'd think could be expected. It's why I chose this 1 actually since it addresses my interests beyond bushcraft. I think it's pretty well-written and has some good ideas within, recommended.
I love this book is very detailed & very knowledgeable. I also like how they have different chapters for different survival tactics and scenarios. Dave Canterbury also has been one of my favorites & I'm describing on his YouTube Channel.... With his Bushcraft survival techniques & old school survival & camping. He is a great survival expert as well as a book writer and author. I have bought all of his Bushcraft series and looking forward to his upcoming release Here on Amazon. I honestly can say I have learned a lot and I'm very confident with his knowledge and learning from reading these books & as well his YouTube channel.
Another good book, by Dave Canterbury, this is the third in his series that i have purchased..all are great information to add to the tool box.although i do have to say , i live on the west coast so alot of the plant infi isnt relivent to my area
